General Service 1962-2007, 1 clasp, Northern Ireland (25073626 Spr D Mc. Kee RE) mounted court-style as worn; Iraq 2003-11, no clasp (25073626 LCpl D McKee RE) in named card box of issue, extremely fine (2) £200-300

Daniel McKee joined the Royal Engineers at Hereford on 10 February 1998 and served with them in Northern Ireland. After undertaking the Para course in 2004 he was promoted Lance Corporal and served with the High Risk Search Team, an explosives search and disposal unit, in Iraq in 2004. The following year he embarked upon the Commando course, before leaving the Army in 2006.

Sold together with the recipient’s Royal Engineers cap badge; belt; stitched name tag; desert-cam Lance-Corporal stripe; 4th Armoured Brigade flash; identity tag; various items of clothing; the recipient’s Attestation Bible; various photographs, these all annotated by the recipient; and other documentation.

Also sold with a hip flask presented by 59 Independent Commando Squadron R.E., to one of the Squadron’s three M.I.D. recipients, and numbered ‘2nd of 3’,
with a large dent in it reputedly caused from when it was hit by a piece of shrapnel from a detonated roadside I.E.D.
