Great Britain, White Star Line, RMS Oceanic, a silver spoon, enamelled star base with a depiction of the vessel, back named (A.E. Tiffin), hallmarked l&s Birmingham 1911, 115mm. Extremely fine, attractive (£200-250)

RMS Oceanic, built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, was the largest liner in the world when launched on 14 January 1899. She served on the Liverpool-New York and then Southampton-New York runs, before being converted to an armed merchant cruiser in 1914. On 8 September 1914 the vessel ran aground off Foula, Shetland Islands, and was declared a total loss several days later
