General Service 1962-2007, 1 clasp, Northern Ireland (24471611 Gnr M P S McKee RA) possible ‘R’ erased from edge, note differing initials; South Atlantic 1982, with rosette (24471611 Pte M D McKee Para) mounted as worn, nearly very fine (2) £1000-1200

Further information has been provided with regard to this lot:
Mark Peter McKee enlisted in the Royal Artillery in 1978, and served with 27 Regiment in Northern Ireland on Operation Banner. He transferred to the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment in 1982 and served in the Falklands, Belize, and again in Northern Ireland. During his 6 month tour in Belize he commanded a section when the battalion was short of N.C.O’s. Promoted Lance-Corporal in November 1983, he subsequently commanded a patrol in Northern Ireland and was commander of a machine gun section.

Sold with copies of his Soldier’s Record of Service and a number of photographic images from Northern Ireland, the Falklands and Belize.
