Crimea1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma (tailor's copy), Inkermann, Sebastopol (50th Regt.), officially impressed naming; New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated, 1863-1866 (4146 Clr. Sergt., 50th Qn’s. Own Rgt.); Army L.S. & G.C., V.R. (4146 Cr. Sergt., 50th Foot); Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue, with replacement scroll suspender, edge bruising and contact marks, good fine and better (4) £550-650

Sold with an original copy of 'Experiences of a British Veteran Soldier' by Thomas McKiernan, Colour Sergeant, late 50th (Queen's Own) Regiment; published in South Wales, 1892, 162pp. The book contains a portrait photograph of the recipient and covers his experiences throughout the Crimean campaign and the Maori wars and provides a fascinating insight into a soldiers life in the Victorian Army. Sold with copied service papers.
