1914-15 Star (2324 Pte., Lan. Fus.) surname spelt with one ‘t’ on this; British War and Victory Medals (2324 Pte., Lan. Fus.); together with memorial plaque (William A. Matthewson); and transmission slip for each medal, the B.W.M. with official correction to initial, extremely fine (4) £70-90

William A. Matthewson was born at Liverpool, lived in Pendleton, Manchester and enlisted at Salford, Lancashire. He died at Gallipoli on 21 August 1915 whilst serving with the 1/7th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. He is buried at East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos.
