Ernest C. Alcock entered the War on 18 July 1915, serving in the Gloucester Regiment, and subsequently transferred to the 10th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. He won the M.M. for the action at Epehy on the Hindenberg Line, 18-23 September 1918.
