George Weakley joined the service aboard H.M.S. ST VINCENT as a Boy 2nd Class in April 1855 aged 14 years, born Keylaren, Hants. Drafted to H.M.S. NIMROD 1 March 1857 where he served as Boy 2nd and 1st Class and Ord until 1 August 1861. Subsequently joining H.M.S. DROMEDARY as an A.B. on 17 November 1873 and advanced to Petty Officer 1st Class six weeks later, remaining on her books until 10 July 1874. Pensioned without LS & GC with 20 years service on 30 August 1878.
