Wounded slightly on 6 March 1900, near Britstown. Served with the Mounted Infantry along side the 2nd battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment throughout the war, until the battalion returned home. The Mounted Infantry remained in South Africa and subsequently received the King's Medal which is scarce to the regiment.
