Elizabeth II (1952-, Elizabeth II, Proof Double-Sovereign, 1994, struck to commemorate the Tercentenary of the Bank of England obverse bust left without value below, in Royal Mint case of issue. About as struck, a very rare mule
This issue is unusual in the fact that the rarity factor is increasing. The Royal Mint will exchange a mule for the correct coin, struck from the gold of the returned coin, thus keeping the total mintage to 1,000. At the time of going to press it is estimated that the mules represented between 40 and 50% of the issue.
