Hudson Henry Ozzard served with the 1st Battalion 3rd Foot throughout the operations in the Malay Peninsula 1875-76 (Medal with clasp). He transferred to the Indian Army, 14th Bengal Native Infantry, and was attached to the 1st Gurkhas throughout the first campaign in Afghanistan (Medal). He was promoted to Captain, Wing Officer 14th N.I., in 1885, and became Major in 1894, employed in the North West Provinces as Cantonment Magistrate at Benares, Allahabad District. Major Ozzard retired in 1899.
