A post-war B.E.M. group of three awarded to Colour-Sergeant L. Richardson, Scots Guards, afterwards Senior Warden of the Jewel House in the Tower of London

B.E.M. London Gazette 1 January 1964.

Llewellyn Richardson was awarded his B.E.M. in respect of his services as Master Cook of the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards, which distinction he received from the Governor-General at an investiture held at State House, Nairobi in May 1964. On leaving the Army he became Chief Warden of the Jewel House at the Tower of London, in which capacity he served from 1972 to 1991.

Sold with a presentation silver-plated tankard, by
Garrard & Co., engraved, ‘1st Battalion, Scots Guards, L./Sjt L. Richardson, May 1954’, and another, in pewter, engraved, ‘L. Richardson, B.E.M., Chief Warder of The Jewel House, H.M. Tower of London, March 1972 - March 1991’; a pair of gilt ‘E.II.R.’ Warden’s collar badges; and a quantity of original congratulatory letters and messages in respect of his award of the B.E.M., together with related investiture letter.
