Charles I (1625-1649), Newark, Shilling, 1645, early style, crude flat crown with 9 pearls either side of orb, reads obs newarke, 6.20gm (Hird 247-8 and SCBI Brooker 1223, same dies; N 2639; S 3141). Strictly fair to fine, but rare (£300-350)
