Cyril J. Rowe was born in St. Peter’s, Thanet, Kent and was baptised at the church of St. Peter the Apostle in November 1892. As a Trooper with the 2nd Life Guards he entered France/Flanders on 8 October 1914. He was taken prisoner by the Germans at Ypres on 30 October 1914. With copied m.i.c., P.O.W. documents and other research.
