Allan Muir was born in and enlisted at Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire. Serving with the 1st/5th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, 28 September 1918, aged 23 years. He was buried in the Wytschaete Military Cemetery, Heuvelland, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of Mr & Mrs William Muir, of Calseyfoot Knowe, Lesmahagow.
