Royal Humane Society, small bronze medal (successful), (James Percey, P.C. 31st July 1909) suspension detached from disk, with bronze buckle on ribbon, good very fine £100-140

‘On the 31st July 1909, a man named Warren entered a cess-pit for the purpose of cleaning it at Ropley, Hants., and was struck down by foul gas. William Bone went in to his help, but was overcome, Percey and Oliver then went in and got them out, but Warren did not recover.’

P.C. James Percey and Leonard Oliver, M.R.C.S. were both awarded the R.H.S. Bronze Medal.
