Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Nivelle, Nive (R. Lodge, 84th Foot) better than good fine £700-900

Richard Lodge was born at Saddleworth, Lancashire, in about 1793, and enlisted into the 84th Foot in April 1811, a Cotton Spinner by trade. He was retained on reduction of the 2nd Battalion and would probably have served on convict ships. He appeared before the Pension Board on 13 September 1820, for chronic pulmonic affection and general ill health, and was awarded 6d per day pension. He was later admitted to Chelsea as an in-pensioner and died there.
