Zeppelin Bombardment of Britain, ‘The British Nightmare’, 1916, bronze satirical medal by Walter Eberbach, skeleton figure of Death unleashes Zeppelins, from which fall bombs on a factory, reverse six-line inscription, from which drops a bomb, 68mm. Extremely fine and very rare, particularly in this metal (£250-300)

This reverse contains a reference to ‘Lord Curzon, den Deutscher Hasser’, the hated Lord Curzon, who in 1916 was president of the Air Board, a similar medal, but in iron, was sold in these rooms on 31 October 1997, Lot 537.
