Seven: Serjeant E. H. Bailey, Royal Army Service Corps

1939-45 Star; Africa Star, clasp, 8th Army; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals, M.I.D. oak leaf, these unnamed; Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue (1454514 Sjt., R.A.[S.C.]) last two initials of unit erased; France, Croix de Guerre 1939-1940, silver star on ribbon, mounted as worn; with Dunkirk War Veteran’s Medal; together with a similar set of eight miniature dress medals, mounted for wear, some contact marks, about very fine (16) £100-140

Edward Harold Bailey was born on 31 March 1918 and enlisted in the R.A.S.C. on 1 September 1939. Discharged in January 1946. Latterly lived at Cherry Tree Cottage, Weston Underwood Olney, Buckinghamshire.

With Soldier’s Release Book; two Dunkirk Veterans Association membership cards and papers concerning the Dunkirk Veterans Medal. M.I.D. and Croix de Guerre not confirmed.
