Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (6707 Pte. C. Harris, Wilts. Regt.) very fine £60-80

Charles Harris was born in Homington, near Salisbury, Wilts and was living at Winterbourne Stoke, near Wilton, Wilts, when he enlisted in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion of the Wiltshire Regiment on 5 September 1901. He was a Carter. He arrived on the island of St Helena in the Atlantic, where the 3rd Battalion was guarding Boer prisoners of war, on 7 February 1902. He was disembodied on 11 September 1902 and purchased his discharge in 1904. With copied service papers and other research.
