Khedive’s Star, 1884-6 (2) reverse inscribed, ‘2439 15’; another, reverse inscribed, ‘Berks 854’, nearly very fine (2)

First attributed to the 15th Sikhs.

Khedive Star ‘854’ attributed to William Thomas. He was born in Bromley-by-Bow, London. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Infantry at London on 10th August 1883, aged 19 years, 6 months. With the Royal Berkshire Regiment he served in Egypt, October 1884-May 1886; Cyprus, June 1886-February 1888; Malta, February 1888-March 1893, and Bermuda, March-November 1893. In addition to the above, was awarded the Egypt Medal, undated with clasps for Suakin 1885 and Tofrek. Discharged at the termination of his second period of service, 9 August 1904. With copied service papers.
