John Watts was born and lived in Gosport, Hampshire and enlisted at Winchester. Serving with the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment he was killed in action, France/Flanders, 3 September 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. With medal forwarding slip addressed to Mrs A. B. A. Watts, Willow Tree, 224 Forton Road, Gosport.
