LONDON, Arcangelo Corelli, uniface oval silver music hall ticket, unsigned, half-length bust facing, head turned to right, back named (Mr Jno. Meredith 546), 35 x 27mm, 8.80g (Niggl 517; D & W 53/77). Fine, extremely rare; with integral loop for suspension and ring £300-500

Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713), violinist and composer of baroque music from Bologna, considered the father of fine violin players, whose concerti grossi have been popular in Western culture. He is not known to have played in England but this ticket, which dates to c. 1750, was obviously used in a music hall context, almost certainly in London
