Three: Captain C. L. Tredcroft, Royal Artillery

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Lieutt. C. Lennox Tredcroft, Rl. Artillery) contemporary engraved naming; Turkey, Order of Medjidie, 5th Class breast badge, silver, gold and enamel, enamel damage to star and crescent; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, contemporary tailor’s copy by ‘J.B.’, unnamed, swivel ring suspension, the three mounted as worn from a silver buckle bar, some contact marks, very fine (3) £400-500

Charles Lennox Tredcroft was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery on 23 June 1852 and was promoted to Lieutenant on 17 February 1854. He served in the Crimea War, taking part in the siege of Sebastopol, in the trenches with the siege train and at the bombardment of April. For his services he was awarded the Queen’s medal with clasp, the Order of the Medjidie 5th Class and the Turkish Crimea Medal. On 15 May 1859 he attained the rank of Captain.
