Danish West Indies, Communion Tokens, St Johns, Unknown church, rectangular hardwood token with bevelled corners, e, rev. unreadable script, 51 x 29mm, 3.12g (Burzinski 2260, this piece). Fine, the ink inscription weak, of the highest rarity and in all probability the only recorded specimen £500-600

Illustration reduced. Mr Roehrs believed that this piece also emanated from Emmaus (see previous lot) but what traces remain of the script on the back suggest that is not what the legend reads
