Frederick Wing was born and lived in Peckham and enlisted at Blackheath. As Private 3737 in the 20th Battalion London Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 9 October 1915. As Corporal 295453 in the 2nd/4th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action on 21 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial.
