F. James Stone was born and enlisted at Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey, Kent. As a Driver in the H.Q. Company, 3rd Division, A.S.C., he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 17 August 1914. He was later transferred to the 158th Battery Royal Field Artillery. As such he died of wounds on 28 March 1918, aged 37 years. He was buried in the Faubourg d’Amiens Cemetery, Arras. With copied m.i.c. and some other research.
