Peter Allan was born on 27 February 1885. An Engineer by occupation, he entered the R.N.V.R. on 2 November 1903. Rated an E.R.A.2 in August 1914 and attained the rank of E.R.A.1 in January 1916. Served on the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Achilles, August 1914-September 1917. Awarded the R.N.V.R. Long Service Medal whilst on board the ship in December 1916. Demobilised on 23 August 1919. With copied service paper and roll extracts.
