Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (George Edwin Baker), good very fine £40-60
George Edwin Baker was killed in action on 5 November 1918, while serving as a Driver in 1st Company, 48th Divisional Horse Transport, Army Service Corps. The son of George and Minnie Baker of Birmingham, he was 23 years of age and is buried in Montecchio Precalcino Communal Cemetery Extension in Italy; the Commonwealth War Graves Commission register also lists six further casualties with the surname ‘Baker’, with undefined initials ‘G. E.’
