Edward III (1327-1377), Pre-Treaty period, Groats (2), both series G, London, mm. cross 3, annulet (?) below bust, all arches fleured, rev. annulet below civi, reverse-barred ns, 4.49g/3h, arches above crown unfleured, no extra annulets, unbarred ns, 4.37g/11h (N 1193-4; S 1570) [2]. First good fine, second about fine £60-80

Provenance: Found near Evershot (Dorset) 2008.

Part of a small find of twelve coins; the latest pieces, in very fine condition, are lot 2085 and a class D Groat of David II of Scotland, lot 2327, both issued in the mid-1360s. The deposit would seem to date to
c. 1370
