Commonwealth (1649-1660), 1657/6, mm. sun on obv. only, nglan of england apparently over gland, 2.75g/10h (ESC 1493A; N 2726; S 3219). Striking crack at 5 o’clock, obverse about fine, reverse better, extremely rare £400-500

As Anthony Dowle noted in 2000, the reverse die is very badly cut, even by the standards of the time; the es are from an unusually small font and the legend badly aligned
