Private John Richard Greer enlisted as a junior soldier and passed out from the Highland Brigade Depot in December 1966. He served with the Black Watch platoon that was loaned to the 1st battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Aden from 8 June to 26 November 1967. in November 1970 he was listed as Regimental Cook with 1st battalion Black Watch. He died in October 1971 as the result of a traffic accident. With further research and copy picture of Greer from the regimental journal.
