King’s African Rifles L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (2555 Pte. Saidi, K.A. Rif.) edge bruising, contact marks, fine £100-140

Saidi, of the Yao Tribe, from the village of Lulanga, in the district of Chikala, enlisted into the King’s African Rifles in May 1916, aged 20 years. He served during the Great War in German East Africa and Portuguese East Africa, seeing action at Matengo, Likuyu, Mpurarassesse, Likanduka, Luambala, Nanungu and Nakote. He re-enlisted in 1919. With copied service papers.
