John Howard was born in Manchester and enlisted at Salford. Serving in “A” Company, 1/7th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, he was killed in action at Gallipoli on 4 June 1915, aged 18 years. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Howard of 36 Isaac Street, Salford, Lancashire.
