Frederick Packer, a Driver’s Assistant, living at Victoria Coffee Palace, Melbourne, enrolled into the Australian Imperial Forces on 22 July 1915, aged 28 years. As a Private in the 30th Battalion A.I.F., he sailed for Europe from Sydney aboard H.M.A.T. Beltana on 9 November 1915. As a Bombardier serving with 15th Brigade Australian Field Artillery, he died of wounds on 1 January 1917. He was buried in the Guards’ Cemetery, Lesboeufs, Somme, France. With copied research.
