James William Blount was killed in action at the Battle of the Coronel while serving in the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Good Hope. The son of James and Jane Blount, he was 37 years of age and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. He was, of course, also awarded the 1914-15 Star and Victory Medal 1914-19.
