Kennan Athale, of the Atonga Tribe, from the village of Matete, in the district of Chinteche, attested for the 1st Battalion King’s African Rifles, at Zomba on 30 May 1914. He served in the suppression of the Chilembwe Rebellion 1915 and in the campaign against German East Africa. He was discharged on 2 June 1920 as ‘time expired’. With copied service papers.
