Charles I (1625-1649), Halfcrown, 1644, mm. three gerbs with sword between (arms of Chester), obverse King on horseback left, plain below and behind, reverse Declaration in two lines, three plumes above, date between pellets below (N 2930 (p. 189); S 3133; JGB 1112). Off-centre and with edge split (12 o’clock), but fine, very rare (£800-1000)
