Lieutenant-Colonel L. A. Massie was educated at Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen, and at Aberdeen University. He was a qualified solicitor and advocate and, amongst other positions that he held in Malaysia after the war, he was president of the War Crimes Court, S.E.A.C.
