Ronald Robert Stewart was born on 25 June 1867, son of Colonel D. Stewart, late 78th highlanders. He served in South Africa with the 4th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was promoted to Captain and Honorary Major on 24 January 1902 and died on Christmas Day 1909. Also entitled to the clasp ‘South Africa 1901’, issued seperately in October 1902.
