The Russian Medal of St George is is confirmed in the Regimental History as being one of only eight such medals awarded to the regiment during the Great War.

Also entitled to D.C.M. London Gazette 14 November 1916. ‘For conspicuous gallantry in action, he carried messages under very heavy fire, displaying great courage and determination. Later he carried ammunition to the front line.’
