William James Mabson lived in Lewisham and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with the 1st/20th Battalion London Regiment he was killed in action, France/Flanders on 1 October 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Sold with copied extracts from The Journal, 10 November 1916 and The Kentish Mercury, 1 December 1916 in which he was posted as ‘missing’.
