Major Patrick Joseph Lecky Phelps was born in July 1921 and received an Emergency Commission into the Indian Army in July 1941, serving in Burma with the 5th Battalion, Frontier Force Regiment, PAIFORCE and on Itelligence duty. Post war he served with the Tochi Scouts, before transferring to the 5th Dragoon Guards in 1947, being given the rank of Honorary Major in 1955 and then transferring to the R.A.F. Police from whom he retired in 1962.
