William Dare was born at Shoreditch, Middlesex and enlisted at Whitehall. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 28 March 1918 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, having previously served with the 20th Battalion, London Regiment.
