Robert Bulmer was born in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. A Butcher by occupation, he attested for service in the K.R.R.C. on 22 November 1889, aged 22 years, 3 months. With the 1st battalion he served in India, November 1890-December 1896, taking part in the Hazara campaign 1891, Miranzai campaign 1891, Isazai expedition 1892 and the Chitral relief expedition 1895. Returning home after service in South Africa, December 1896-June 1897, he was transferred to the Army Reserve. Recalled to Army service in November 1899, he served in South Africa, December 1899-August 1902. He was discharged in August 1902. Sold with copied service papers.
