Father and son’s medals. Early in the Second World War John Richard Walker served in the Berkshire Constabulary and A.R.P. and other services. Later in the Royal Navy he served in the Atlantic and later still served as an Aircrew Observer and finally as a Sub-Lieutenant in the Fleet Air Arm. He served with No.820 Squadron on H.M.S. Indefatigable in operations in Sumatra, Burma, Sakishima, Okinawa and Japan, 1944-45. He gained his ‘Goldfish Club’ Badge when his plane ‘ditched’ in the Pacific on 26 February 1945. He served in the Metropolitan Police, 1945-51, and the Colonial Police, 1951-62; in the latter he attained the rank of Deputy Superintendent with the Uganda Police and was awarded the C.P.M. in 1962. He then served in the Sussex Police, 1966-84. Based at Battle, East Sussex, he attained the rank of Sergeant.

Sold with the recipient’s hand-written listing of his medals and a summary of his service; together with six cloth and bullion Naval badges including the recipient’s ‘Goldfish Club’ Badge.
