Cavalry officer’s sword, 1821 pattern, a fine quality solid patent tang fighting sword for an officer of the 5th Royal Irish Lancers, by Charles Reeves, 9 West Street, Fouberts Place, Regent Street, London, the 92cm heavy slightly curved flat solid double-edged blade etched with crowned reversed & intwined VR cypher, intricate foliate scrolls and above a wreath the regimental device of crossed lances, Irish Harp, ‘5th Royal Irish’ and the motto ‘Quis separabit’ retaining almost all original finish, regulation steel 3 bar guard, chequered pommel, vulcanized grips bound with copper wire, complete with its steel scabbard, some minor dents to scabbard otherwise good condition throughout £800-1000
