Edward Arthur Coleman (‘Colman’ on medals) was born in Dalston, Middlesex, and living at Highbury, enlisted at Shoreditch, Middlesex. Serving in “C” Company, 9th Battalion, Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action on 6 January 1916, aged 17 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of Cecil and Edith Coleman of 43 Cremer Street, Shoreditch, London.
