Walling, P.O.M., R.N.A.S.) medal to ‘Robotham’ with official correction to naming, first with edge bruising, very fine and better (5) £100-140

Robert John Mott was born in Lewisham, London, on 17 July 1888. An Engineer by occupation, he entered the R.N.A.S. as an Air Mechanic 1st Class on 2 November 1916. Based at President II, he served at Dunkirk, Crystal Palace and Felixstowe. He later entered into the R.A.F. Curiously, on his copied service paper, under ’Wounds, Scars, or Marks’ it states, ‘2 Scars on back (Gunshot)’.

Cecil Rowbotham was born in Mosely, Birmingham, on 13 March 1897. A Draughtsman by occupation, he entered the R.N.A.S. as an Acting Air Mechanic 1st Class on 21 February 1917. Based at
President II and Daedalus, he served at Crystal Palace and Kingsnorth. He later entered the R.A.F. Sold with copied service paper.

Stanley Walling was born in Tottenham, London, on 4 October 1886. An Engineer by occupation, he entered the R.N.A.S. as an Acting Air Mechanic 1st Class (E) on 5 Janaury 1917. Based at
President II, he served at Crystal Palace and Cranwell. He later entered the R.A.F. Sold with copied service paper.
