Frederick Picknell was born in Hastings, Sussex and was a Carpenter by trade. On the strength of H.M.S. Queen, he served in the Royal Naval Brigade in the Crimean War, for which service he was awarded the Queen’s medal with clasps for Inkermann and Sebastopol. Sold with copied extract from ship’s muster roll and extracts from the medal roll confirming the clasps.
