Clemence Samuel Bradley was granted an emergency commission as a Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in November 1941, having earlier seen service as a Corporal in the Wireless Reserve. Subsequently employed in the Technical Branch (Signals), he was advanced to Flying Officer in April 1945 but resigned his commission on health grounds in April 1949. He was awarded his Air Efficiency Award with effect from September 1948.
